Aspiring police officer Paul Blart is a single father who lives in New Jersey with his mother Margaret and his teenage daughter Maya. Even though Paul is a dedicated police cadet, unfortunately, his medical condition prevents him from passing the exams, so in order to be close to his dream, he joins the staff of the West Orange Pavilion Mall as a security guard. Enthusiastic and overzealous, Paul patrols the Mall's premises always willing to help, keeping things in order while riding his motorised electric vehicle. Unexpectedly, the opening of a new kiosk will bring Paul close to Amy, a beautiful, young seller who will eventually steal the guard's heart. When on a Black Friday, a bank heist inside the Mall threatens the life of Paul's beloved Amy, as well as the lives of other hostages, for once, he will have to put into action his police training, overlook his weaknesses and defend effectively his Mall. Will Paul save the day and finally get the girl?
Paul Blart is a mild-mannered man who works as a security guard in a New Jersey mall. For years, he has applied to become a cop, but he always fails the physical exam because he has hypogmycemia and tends to pass out when his blood sugar is low. One day, a gang of organized criminals put the mall under siege and take hostages. Blart becomes trapped inside, and because of his sense of duty, refuses to leave. He thus becomes the police department's eyes on the inside and attempts to stop the criminals on his own.
When a shopping mall is overtaken by a gang of organized crooks, it&#39;s up to the a mild-mannered security guard to save the day.<br/><br/>People listening to the hard-ass critics and ones who believe this was terrible, stop listening. Walk in, expect a comedy, and receive. In fact, I don&#39;t find this to be an average comedy. I actually found it to be hilarious! So many genuinely funny moments that&#39;ll be sure to lift you up. I don&#39;t understand the criticism towards this film AT ALL. Every movie people walk into has to meet their expectations. And their expectations are way over the top. Impossible. Paul Blart may be called a parody of Die Hard or a try-hard comedy film. Again, I don&#39;t exactly know what you thought this movie was (what the Godfather?) but it meet my expectations. The comedy is a perfect balance between adults and children, so no hard times there. And everything else was just great. But overall, all in all, in conclusion; this film is an underrated comedy film that needs to be more appreciated. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. One thing: DO NOT LISTEN TO THE CRITICS. That is all. 7/10.
Most people would fantasize about what they would do if their loved ones and friends were in harm&#39;s way and they are the only person who could save them. None of these people also imagine that it&#39;s in the place they hold most deadly to their heart. Paul Blart is a man of action, a selfless hero who springs into action at a moments notice and will do whatever it takes to thwart his foes of their plans. He doesn&#39;t do it for the fame or glory, he does it because he doesn&#39;t have a choice. He has an inner voice, he hears an altruistic echo that resonates through those hallowed halls of the mall that call him to action. Sure he doesn&#39;t appear to be a hero, someone may see him for the first time and think of him as a &quot;fat guy with a glorious mustache &quot; or a &quot;rent a cop with above average Segway skills&quot; or &quot;a person struggling with hypoglycemia, heartbreak, and copes with the pain by patrolling the grounds of the West Orange Pavilion Mall&quot;. It doesn&#39;t matter to him what they think because he knows when the time comes for him to strap on his helmet, put down a quick pixie stick, repeat his core values &quot;detect, deter, observe, and report&quot;. He doesn&#39;t need the world, but the world needs him. He is Paul Blart and he is our Mall Cop.
The film is completely forgettable, frequently funny and weirdly satisfying in a Jersey Loser Gets Respect kind of way.
